Lake District Estates is a family owned company based in Kendal. Our main areas of operation include residential lettings  and farms in and around the Lake District National Park. We also operate within the group of businesses, Caravan Parks, Self Catering Holidays, Private Holiday Home ownership, Retail outlets, Online Shopping and two Heritage Visitor Attractions. Lake District Estates provide a family solution for property lettings, holidays and activities in and around the Lake District National Park.

Caravan Parks & Holiday Homes


Each of our Parks provides the perfect holiday base for touring, self catering, wigwam holidays, holiday homes and lodges. Hill of Oaks, Buck Yeats, Newby Bridge and Waterfoot Park are located within the Lake District National Park in spectacular settings on Windermere and Ullswater. Woodclose Park is located on the borders between The National Park and Yorkshire Dales, within walking distance of the market town Kirkby Lonsdale and Devils Bridge on the River Lune.

Woodclose Park


Enjoy England Award winning Woodclose Park is located within easy walking distance of the market town of Kirkby Lonsdale and Devils Bridge on the River Lune providing an excellent base for touring, self catering wigwams and private holiday homes and lodges.


Excellent facilities on site include serviced pitches, private family bathrooms, Wi-Fi, outdoor wigwam cooking area, bike hire with easy access to fishing, walking, cycling, horse riding and golf activities.

Hill of Oaks


Hill of Oaks Park is located along eleven kilometres of Windermere shoreline offering an excellent lakeside location for touring, self catering lodges, barn conversion holidays, boat owners, private holiday homes and lodges.


The Park has private jetties and boat launching facilities with five piers along the main shore. Facilities on site include serviced pitches, nature walks, lakeside pitches, Wi-Fi, fishing, boating facilities and electric Twizzy hire.

Waterfoot Park


Waterfoot Park is located within the extension grounds of an Georgian Mansion, overlooking Ullswater for touring, self catering wigwams and private holiday homes, within ten minutes walk of the market town of Pooley Bridge and Ullswater Steamer Pier.


Facilities on site include serviced pitches, licensed bar/coffee shop, Wi-Fi in the Mansion coffee lounge, direct access to walking and cycling routes, within walking distance to lake cruises, watersports and fishing.

Buck Yeats


Buck Yeats is a private Holiday Home development with a select number of holiday home lodge pitches. The Park has no facilities for touring or self catering and there is no shop or reception on site. It is a very private site and secluded Park with direct access to its own boat launching and jetty facilities on Windermere.


The Park is within walking distance of Lakeside Hotel, ferry connections to Bowness and Ambleside, Lakeside Railway and The Aquarium.

Newby Bridge


The latest edition to the Lake District portfolio of Holiday Parks. The Park offers self catering properties and private holiday homes for sale.



Located at the southern end of  Lake Windermere, within walking & cycling distance of the historic village of Cartmel.

Attractions & Events


Ullswater 'Steamers' Lake Cruises and Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway each provide a unique experience to view the mountainous landscapes and wildlife of the Lake District National Park. Ravenglass &
Eskdale Railway


The oldest and longest heritage narrow gauge railway in Lakeland. Seven miles of steam as we travel on one of Wainwrights favourite journeys from the coastal village of Ravenglass to the foot of England’s highest mountains in Eskdale.


Great facilities at both ends of the line include cafes, play areas, free Wi-Fi and gift shops.

Letting Properties


Lake District Estates owns and manages an extensive portfolio of approximately 100 properties for residential letting purposes. The majority of our properties are located in the South Lakeland area of Kendal, Windermere and Ambleside but we also cover areas further afield such as Ravenglass, Pooley Bridge and Glenridding. Our properties range from traditional Lakeland cottages to modern apartment conversions of large historic buildings. Properties are let unfurnished and benefit from a good standard of fixtures, fittings and decoration.
